About Atlanta Phoenix Gas

Learn who maintains this personally funded comparison guide, how rates are verified, how costs are calculated and how marketer relationships are handled.

A personal project to make gas shopping clearer

Atlanta Phoenix Gas is a free comparison guide built and maintained by an individual using personal time and money. The creator is not being paid for this work and currently earns no money from the site.

Our goal is to help metro Atlanta households compare the cost of gas supply plans beyond the advertised therm rate. We are a comparison guide, not a gas marketer, utility or enrollment service. You sign up with the marketer directly.

How rates are sourced and checked

We compare the Georgia Public Service Commission’s published fixed and variable pricing charts with official marketer websites and promotional landing pages. We check plan name, term, therm price, monthly fees, eligibility, promo codes, credits and expiration dates. A published rate and a web offer are kept separate unless the plan variant is verified.

The latest saved rate review is October 6, 2026. Data is a checked snapshot, not a live quote. Some offers require a service address or credit qualification. When information is unavailable, we identify the limitation rather than invent a price. Our monthly rate page and comparison guides are generated from the same saved calculation data as the homepage.

Review automation checks for changes and flags uncertainty. Website changes are reviewed before publishing.

How rankings work

We use the highest monthly service fee in each range, then subtract verified conditional billing discounts. Eligible bill credits apply once when selected. We display one offer per marketer: the lowest initial monthly cost among selected terms, with the lower five-year scenario breaking a tie. You can sort those offers by initial monthly cost or the five-year scenario.

The estimator is a rough starting point. Actual therm usage from bills is preferable. Weather, thermostat settings and the home itself affect gas use. AGL delivery charges and taxes are additional and are excluded from marketer cost comparisons.

Five-year scenarios assume constant usage and current published same-term renewal prices. They do not promise a future renewal rate. Required billing options, reward eligibility and continued enrollment are explained with the offer.

Marketers, links and sponsorship

The current comparison includes SCANA Energy, Georgia Natural Gas, Constellation and Gas South. It is not a comparison of every available Georgia marketer. Outbound links take you to their official websites; tracking parameters help us understand which links visitors use. We currently receive no commissions, referral payments or sponsorship income.

Marketers may contact us about listings or sponsored rates. An invitation is not an existing sponsorship. If a paid relationship begins, we will label it clearly near the affected offer and explain it here. Any sponsored offer must disclose its rate, fees and eligibility; payment will not override the published cost formula or sorting.

Why metro Atlanta?

Some offers are restricted to a region, delivery group or customer type. AGL serves homes beyond metro Atlanta, but that does not mean every AGL home qualifies for every offer in this comparison. See our current metro Atlanta comparison area.
